toddler driving test - autismnz
Did you know the average age of Autism diagnosis in New Zealand is 7? It should be 2.
Late diagnoses means kids miss developmental hurdles that have knock-on effects for the rest of their lives. But most parents don’t know what signs to look for – or are afraid of the stigma they imagine an Autism diagnosis could entail. Either way, they’re not taking their kids to get a test.
So, we brought the test to them.
Regardless of environmental or financial factors, all kids go for rides in the car, so we disguised an autism test as a radio ad and aired it around kindy and daycare drop off and pick up times. Parents were also encouraged to learn more at toddlerdrivingtest.co.nz and were then guided to a professional for more support and an official assessment.
